Andrei Lupas
Prof Andrei Lupas studies how the first proteins arose at the origin of life and how they evolved into the diversity of forms observable today.
Since 2001 Prof Andrei Lupas has been the Scientific Member of the Max Planck Society and Director at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology. He studied biology at TU Munich (1982-1985) and molecular biology at Princeton Univ. (1985-1990) with his PhD awarded in 1991. He has had appointments at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried (1992-1997) and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, Collegeville (1997-2001).
