Luke McAlary
Luke completed a PhD at the University of Wollongong under the supervision of Professor Justin Yerbury, studying the misfolding and aggregation of the ALS-associated protein SOD1. He then spent two years at the University of British Columbia in the labs of Professor Steven Plotkin and Professor Neil Cashman, where he examined the phase separation properties of ALS-associated mutants of TDP-43. He is now situated at the University of Wollongong with the Bill Gole Postdoctoral award and plans to continue researching the underlying causes of ALS in the lab of his mentor and friend Professor Justin Yerbury.
