Paul Thaw The 45th Lorne Conference on Protein Structure and Function 2020

Paul Thaw

Paul obtained his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Sheffield for his work on the structure and function of Translationally Controlled Tumour Proteins by NMR. Opting to switch disciplines to protein X-ray crystallography he then went on to study DNA binding proteins in transcription regulation and DNA repair. After a brief spell working on Heme transporters, Paul moved to a commercial role at Molecular Dimensions where he developed screens, tools and instrumentation for crystallography. He now heads up Structural Biology at SPT Labtech and focuses on delivering automated solutions to problematic workflows in both crystallography and cryo-EM.
